August 31, 2005›› UPDATE
We Have now heard from all of our co-workers who are now in safe places. Though we have heard that the St Bernard Parish where one of them lived is no longer. It seems all that is left of his house is the roof that floats in 12 ft of water. But as i keep reminding him it can be replaced But they cannot be.
However Johns Wife Melissa is still looking for her brother
RICHARD ALLAN TRAPANI they have not heard from him since Saturday, so they have no idea of his whereabouts. I have found a few sites where you can post names of the missing.
craigslist
yahoo goups
and now i hear that the salvation army is picking up on this too
I have read many listings where people are willing to make phone calls and take people in to there homes.
CNN has been reporting on a live journal of some guys who are sticking it out in downtown NOLA.
the name of the company is DIRECTNIC
If you click on the link it will take you to the live journal.

August 30, 2005›› Picking Up the Pieces after Katrina
I have to comment on the Hurricane that has touched so many lives.
We have all watched in Horror over the last 24 hours of the destruction and devistation that has happned through out NOLA & Mississippi. Even though most of us don't live there we have all been touched by this disaster as many of us have family and friends down there. I work for a small Company, and one of our branches is In NOLA.
We have two workers there and many more business/friends. Thank god we have heard from one of them and they are In houston and thankfully safe, but we are affraid that there home is gone It was in the St Bernard Parish area and were trying to find out what the conditions are there. If anyone knows maybe they can leave a comment so that we can pass information on to him.
Many people have lost there lives, loved ones and pretty much everything they own. When I watch the news on CNN that is covering the disaster it makes me want to cry for all. Make sure you hug and kiss your loved ones tonight and be thankfull you have them, for there are many people who are alone and without theres.
Even though we may not be able to help physically maybe financially we can give a few bucks.. donate to the red cross and help others who have nothing. Even if you can only spare a dollar every cent can make a difference in peoples lives.
Also Our co-workers wifes brother has not been heard from since saturday, His name is Robert Allan Trapani If anyone knows where we can list peoples names who are missing please let me know. Or if any other webmasters are reading this blog and are reporting on the Hurricane, maybe you can post his name somewhere in your blog. You never know who is reading them and maybe someone who knows him or maybe Robert himself. Anyways If anyone knows him or His where abouts please contact me at milflife@gmail.com his family is worried.

August 21, 2005›› Rules for driving in Montreal
Rules For Driving In Montreal...
1. Turn signals will give away your next move. A real Montreal driver never uses them.
2. Under no circumstances should you leave a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, or the space will be filled in by somebody else putting you in an even more dangerous situation.
3. Crossing two or more lanes in a single lane-change is considered going with the flow.
4. The faster you drive through a red light, the smaller the chance you have of getting hit.
5. Never, ever come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expects it and it willinevitably result in you being rear ended. If you want your insurance company to pay for a new rear bumper, come to a complete stop at all stop signs.
6. A right lane construction closure is just a game to see how many people can cut in line by passing you on the right as you sit in the left lane waiting for the same jerks to squeeze their way back in before hitting the orange construction barrels.
7. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive bodywork. Quebec is a no-fault insurance province and the other guy doesn't have anything to lose.
8. Braking is to be done as hard and late as possible to ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving a nice, relaxing foot massage as the brake pedal pulsates. For those of you without ABS, it's a chance to stretch your legs.
9. Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right. It's a good way to scare people entering the highway.
10. Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as suggestions and are apparently not enforceable in the Montreal area during rush hour.
11. Just because you're in the left lane and have no room to speed up or move over doesn't mean that a Montreal driver flashing his high beams behind you doesn't think he can go faster in your spot.
12. Learn to swerve abruptly. Montreal is the home of high-speed slalom driving thanks to the Ministère de Transport which puts potholes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep them on their toes.
13. It is traditional in Montreal to honk your horn at cars that don't move the instant the light changes.
14. Never take a green light at face value. Always look right and left before proceeding.
15. Remember that the goal of every Montreal driver is to get there first, by whatever means necessary.
16. In the Montreal area flipping someone the bird is considered a Quebec salute. This gesture should always be returned .
